Characters and Acts

If you enjoy moral theory and have a chance, you must read The Good, The Bad, and Peter Singer. In the article, Terrance Tomkow argues for distinguishing the idea of good or bad character from the idea of a good or bad act, and he utilizes this distinction to explain (away) a sort of case which Singer advances as revealing utilitarian intuitions. It is very good stuff, and an easy, pleasant read.
